Reno :(

Brandon and I finally got the chance to go to an out of town BSU game. We were pumped. Every year that they have gone to a big bowl game, we have a baby. Seriously. So this year we decided that the girls were old enough for us to leave overnight so we booked our trip. I was so excited as B's brother and his wife were going, and we set it up to go with our good friends Chad and Nicole. I was a little sad leaving Friday morning because I knew that Miss Lily would be waking us soon and I wasn't the one to be getting her, or putting her to bed that night. but I just knew that I would be so sad to miss the Broncos Stomp the Pak. Or so I thought.
We left early Friday and drove into the long long stretch of nothingness that leads to Reno. Got settled at Circus Circus and took off to the Nugget for the Awful burger. Although there was nothing awful about it, it was the most delicious, hugest burger I have ever seen. After that we were off to get ready for the game. The whole town was covered in blue and orange. It was the prettiest sight, every where else was covered in blue and gray....... gross. We then decided to try to get a shuttle to the game. What a joke. After missing like three or four we took off walking. One thing about UNR, is they have a beautiful campus. The Bronco Nation was out tailgating in style. We met a few and hung with them until 20 min before the game. Once we made our way into the stadium we were screamed at by Nevada fans and our bleacher seats were covered in ice. Awesome, thanks. So lucky for us, we planned on standing and screaming for our team the whole time. The game was off to an amazing start up 24-7 by half time. We honestly felt like we had it in the bag. Once the 4th quarter came, we were all in a daze. We aren't totally used to worrying about not winning. But here we were, and the wolf pak came blazing. It seemed like we were moving in slow motion, dropping catches, missing tackles, slipping, getting penalties..... We couldn't get it together. But Nevada did. First down after first down they made their way to another touchdown and we were tied with 9 seconds left in the game. We had one shot, and our amazing quarter back did what he does best. Connected to Titus Young down to our endzone.... with 2 seconds remaining..... We literally lost it, I thought that I might pass out from screaming, then as if you didn't know. The kick was missed. Devastion. For the player, and for the team. and then we lost in overtime. Once the kick went up, we got out of that stadium as quick as we could. As we were screamed at again by their fans. Saying to have a "safe" trip home. I won't lie, I cried a little bit. I didn't realize just how much I love our little team and their determination for winning. I also feel so bad for our kicker. He's now received death threats, seriously?? that's horrible. Not one player can be blamed.

I tried it, not so much.

Nicole and I at half. Still smiling.
After the game we all went back to the casino and had to endure the Nevada fans. They were relentless at the casino. Lucky for us we were leaving the next day. It was a great trip (other than the loss) with great friends and family. We shared so many laughs and jokes. I can't wait to cheer on the Broncos this Saturday and I hope that the rest of the fans will too. xoxo
