Finally, it is over. So Monday came and I was a wreck just like I thought I would be. Chloe on the other hand was almost excited, she was in such good spirits the whole morning. The hard part was not letting her eat before the surgery. We let her stay up till about midnight the night before so she slept in until about 10 minutes before we left. I had her wear her jammies and she just couldn't believe that she was in public in her jammies. So my child. So we got checked in and she was still so excited, she was playing with all the toys and talking to all the nurses. They had her put her gown on, and she went right to playing with all the pretend doctor stuff. The amazing part was that she actually knew had to use everything. Then came the liquid medicine that made her so loopy. She had a hard time drinking it, but I persuaded her. Within five minutes she was being so hilarious. She was saying things that didn't make sense, and singing. She stared at Finding Nemo like she had never seen it before. Brandon and I were cracking up, but then they came to get her...... it hit me that she was going to be taken away from me. I kissed her, and I hugged her, and I kissed her again and she looks right into my eyes and says " Mom, I am going to be fine." that's when I cried. What an angel. They wheeled her down the hall and I had to lean on B to hold me up. We went outside and had some lunch, thank goodness my husband knew what I needed. This took up almost all of the time so when we came back we only waited about twenty minutes which was nice. The dentist came out to tell us that he had to do 3 crowns, and 5 fillings on my beautiful little girls mouth. shock. I just couldn't believe that this had happened. So then we went back to see her. This was the worst part. She was hysterical. She was crying, shaking, and coughing. I started to panic because I wasn't sure what was normal after anesthetic. Apparently this is all normal, but I still was upset. Within about 5 minutes she was calm and asleep. We stayed for about 45 minutes in recovery and then headed home. Baby girl watched about 5 movies and was eating everything soft in sight. Luckily by the next day she was back to normal. She sort of freaked out when she saw her teeth though..... so was I. They used silver crowns because well baby teeth will fall out one day but until then she says she has Black Teeth. I feel so bad for her, I still have so much guilt that she had to have these done. From now on, there will be much more flossing, much more brushing, and a lot less fruit snacks. Here's to good teeth!! xoxo
